I've been doing pretty good with the Brett not being home for Christmas deal. Until now. I really miss you. My heart aches. The only thing that helps is knowing that this is an opportunity of a lifetime. You get to meet Mom's family, see where she's from, know her a little better, experience a different culture. And of course the webcam. I am so proud of you! Love you bunches and hope your Christmas is wonderful.

It's hard to believe I won't see you this Christmas. You're the robot to my Bono the clown, you're the trumpet playing Gabriel to my clumsy Michael, you're the Joseph to my Mary, and you're one of only four people on this planet who know all the words to "I hope ______ chokes on a chicken bone". Those things are what Christmas means to me, and I hope you have the merriest Christmas Japan has ever seen. :)
