Blarg.

It's 5 days from Christmas. I have over 20 pages of homework due tomorrow,
a speech to prepare, and a kanji test to study for...I am, if it is possible, anti-inspired to do any of that work right now.

It's not even that I don't want to do the work, or that I don't care. While both statements are true, it goes beyond that. It reaches into a realm that can't be explained. I have been, if you will, inspired to not do the homework.

Let's take a look at the benefits of this decision.
1. Sanity saving fun.
Have you ever had to study for kanji? Here's a little hint...they all look the same. All you have to do is remember that hint, and you'll be reading kanji in no time.

2. Other stuff to do.
I've got stuff to do that isn't homework. I can be..uh..playing..Zelda. Or...uh...buying stuff online or reading webcomics.
...Or..uh...writing pointless blog entries to waste time...*ahem*

3. Sleep
I could be sleeping...right....that's all.

See? I have a lot of things I need to be doing that's not homework.

kanji. by Brett [2003/23/12 10:10 ET]
Kanji are Chinese characters that the Japanese sto...borrowed from Chinese when they invai...visited China in the 6th century or so. The characters are single entities that represent one thought. Under the influence of heavy drugs, one might consider the possibility that the kanji are actually pictures of what they represent.

I don't even know what kanji is :-\

Don't you just hate it when you feel you had someting really good to say, and then you get to typing it out and your mind goes blank.... BLEH!

um... at least you're keeping yourself busy? hehehe by ted [2003/21/12 10:07 ET]
hang in there... one more day til you get to relax for a while and then the only kanji you'll have to read will be the kind preventing you from walking into the ladies restroom or keeping you from trying to go in through an exit and the like...

A little Story by dalecam [2003/21/12 09:19 ET]
When I was in Japan for just two weeks, Naval Reserves two week duty, but in JAPAN!!, I was trying to learn where to get off while on the train, and my stop was a little man holding a sign. That was how I learned the symbles and I knew that an Exit was another symble, can't remember now. So look carefully and you can make little pictures out of the Kanji words. Then you just have to remember what you remember the picture to be. hahaha probably more work!

I know you, if you don't do your homework, it won't save your sanity, you'll go nuts 2 hours before it's due trying to get it finished. (That's a really long sentence). But I do have to agree, all Kanji looks the same. Good luck on your test and all your homework! Love you
